Churchill Downs

Ahh, the twin spires...what a beautiful site!

We very much enjoyed our day at Churchill Downs! We had great seats with great company!
We had passes to the museum and took a walking tour of the race track. This picture is Secretariot's grave. According to John, the greatest racehorse of all time....there is a movie about him coming out later this year.

Rachel Alexander won the Preakness Stakes, the Kentucky Oaks, and was horse of the year. She also won the race we were at. It was fun "knowing" one of the horses.

Me and Matt enjoying a Mint Julep. I actually didn't enjoy mine, so Matt ended up enjoying both.

OK - so there was an area in the museum where you could dress up as a jockey. John thought it would be funny to dress me up and let me ride a horse like a jockey. Picture below.

I'm thrilled, for sure.

You could also ride in a simulated horse race. This is John, Matt and Travis. Travis thought his horse would go faster if he patted his own bottom. Funny guy.

Standing in the winners circle.

Maybe we'll make it to the Derby one year?!?
